This conference is not just about the keynotes.

Be part of a collaborative environment between churches and church leaders–where innovations and learnings happen in real-time as we solve real problems for real people.

Our unique experiential tracks are different from traditional workshops. They are designed to accommodate collaboration, facilitation, and plenty of interaction. They are led by seasoned church leaders who are experts in using ChurchOS®. Each track session builds as it moves from discovery to practical application. We encourage you to pick a track and stick with it through the course of the conference.

This experience at the Intentional Churches Conference is meant to be tailored to you and your unique role and responsibilities. Breakout tracks are a key piece to this experience that makes the conference special and hands-on. Below are descriptions of each available track.

Available Tracks

  • Speakers/Facilitators: Ben Coleman, Tyler Hari

    Who should attend this track: Those who have not yet implemented ChurchOS®, team members who have not been a part of an IGP, any church staff, leader, or volunteer.

    Description: If you are new to ChurchOS, bring your team and experience a basic installation of ChurchOS. In four sessions, you will learn the fundamentals of ChurchOS and use the core tools to develop your first Intentional Growth Plan™ - the master plan to activate the Great Commission in your church. We recommend reading our book, Intentional Churches or listening to the Book Podcast in advance.

  • Speakers/Facilitators: Holly Gillespie, Doug Parks, Drew Moore, Erin Johnston, Blue Van Dyke

    Who should attend this track: Connections/Assimilation Team Leaders, Outreach and Follow-Up Team, Care Team Leaders, those involved in running the Engagement Pathway® at their Church

    Description: Take your current Engagement Pathway to the next level as you learn the latest from the field in thinking and design. You will hear both principles and practical examples of how to build a trackable Engagement Pathway the ONE will actually use, and walk away with a working prototype. The One-aware church must maintain an effective Engagement Pathway!

  • Speakers/Facilitators: Jeff Kirkpatrick, Rodney Elliott

    Who should attend this track: Next Gen Leaders: Kids/Students/College/Young Adults, Groups & Discipleship Team Leaders, Communications Team Leaders, Worship & Production Team Leaders, Care Team Leaders, Campus Pastors

    Description: This track is designed for team members within ministry departments from churches where ChurchOS is being implemented. You will be grouped with other attendees in similar roles (Children’s Ministry, Worship, Connections, etc.) and use crowdsourcing to discover the real issues and challenges department leaders face. You will make friends, better understand your role, and know what practical steps to take next!

  • Speakers/Facilitators: Matthew Robinson, Mike Hickerson

    Who should attend this track: Senior Pastors/Leaders, Elders, Campus Pastors

    Description: This track is designed for senior pastors and board members leading a ChurchOS church. The One-aware, evangelistically activated church must be led by senior leadership who understand the biblical mandate of the Great Commission and how to both spiritually, and practically, lead it out. We will focus our time on these unique roles and the related topics of leadership, accountability, vision casting, reporting, fundraising, governance, and more.

    Who should attend this track: Lead Activators, Executive Pastors

    Description: The role and needed skills of the ChurchOS Activator and Executive Pastor are closely linked. In this track, we will zero in on the core challenges of these important roles and collaboratively address them. It will be led by members of the IC Coaching Team and veteran executive pastors who know what to do and how to help you lead.

    Who should attend this track: Any church staff or volunteer, Missions/Evangelism Team Leaders, Care Team Leaders, Executive Pastors

    Description: Redefine your concept of evangelism, revitalize your zeal for reaching people for Christ, and reignite your relational skills as you explore simple ways to naturally engage your One in conversations that make a lasting impact. Discover a brand new, not-yet-released resource called OneLife; a church-wide evangelism strategy specifically designed to inspire, equip, and mobilize believers to a lifestyle of effective spiritual influence. Now is the time to activate this practical, powerful outreach approach as a leadership team!

Track Leaders

Matthew Robinson

PASTOR OF MINISTRIES, FIRST ORLANDO CHURCH, ORLANDO, FL + COACH & FACILITATOR

Dr. Matthew Robinson serves on the Executive Team at First Orlando as Pastor of Ministries. He loves leading teams to tackle complex ministry opportunities in innovative ways. Originally from Tampa, Matthew is a recovering college mathematics professor and administrator and transitioned into full-time ministry as an Executive Pastor after helping plant a church 15 years ago in Tallahassee. He loves spreadsheets, baking, monorails, his wife Rachel and their two daughters.

Ben Coleman

PASTOR OF ADULT MINISTRY, SUGAR CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH, SUGAR LAND, TX + IC COACH & FACILITATOR

Ben has been serving churches and parachurch ministries in Texas, Louisiana and Florida since 2000. He currently serves on the Executive Leadership Team at Sugar Creek Baptist Church as the Adults Pastor. In this role, he gives strategic leadership to the various age-group ministries, as well as being the point person for their ChurchOS initiatives. Ben loves working with teams to create alignment and mobilize the church to reach their communities for Christ. Ben, and his wife Megan, have been married since 2004 and have 4 children. You can normally find Ben with a cup of coffee in his hand, talking about golf or the last book he finished reading.

Garry Poole

FOUNDER OF ONELIFE, A CHURCHOS SOLUTION - DENVER, CO

Garry is a skilled outreach specialist, training facilitator, and strategic planning consultant for churches and organizations around the world. Garry is the author of numerous discussion guides and books, including the award-winning Seeker Small Groups. Garry planted and led an outreach-oriented church in Indianapolis for 5 years. He also served on staff as Willow Creek’s Evangelism Point Leader in South Barrington for 18 years.

Doug Parks

CO-FOUNDER & CEO - INTENTIONAL CHURCHES - LAS VEGAS, NV

Doug’s love and commitment to help churches comes from his own experience of being eternally impacted as a teenager by a committed church leader. He served for seventeen years as the executive pastor at Canyon Ridge Christian Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. Prior to Canyon Ridge, Doug was a Chick-fil-A owner/operator in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he won the coveted Symbol of Success award. Doug and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Las Vegas with their two children, but he still finds time to follow sports, including his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.

Mike Hickerson

LEAD PASTOR, MISSION CHURCH, VENTURA, CA + IC COACH & FACILITATOR

Mike is the Lead Pastor of Mission Church in Ventura, CA. He describes himself as a church planter, lucky husband, outnumbered dad of three daughters, Oklahoma Sooner fan, coffee addict, and a struggling surfer.

Erin Johnston

CO-EXECUTIVE PASTOR - CANYON RIDGE CHRISTIAN CHURCH - LAS VEGAS, NV

Erin is born and raised in Boise Idaho - yes, potato country. She moved to Las Vegas in 2019 to join the staff team at Canyon Ridge Christian Church and now serves as their Co-Executive Pastor. In addition to pastoring, speaking, and volunteering, Erin is a devoted dog-mom to her black lab Sophie. She gets outside as much as possible, is a die-hard sports fan (Go Dodgers!), and will eat Mexican food at any moment of the day.

Drew Moore

LEAD PASTOR, CANYON RIDGE CHRISTIAN CHURCH - LAS VEGAS, NV

Drew Moore has always been about pointing people to life in Jesus. After graduating from Illinois State University in 2000, he began a seven-year run as math teacher, football coach and high school ministry volunteer at Eastview Christian Church. In 2006, he made ministry his vocation as Eastview’s High School Pastor. After completing a Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation at Lincoln Christian University, Drew began at Canyon Ridge in 2012 as Pastor of Student Life, where he served until becoming Lead Pastor in October of 2018. Drew loves outdoor adventures and spending quality time with his wife Layne and his four kids, Luke, Nina, Miles, and Zeke.

Blue Van Dyke

PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER, THE STUDIOC , PHOENIX, AZ

With a rich background as an international marketing executive, venture capitalist and Executive Pastor, Blue Van Dyke is a diverse and experienced strategic leader. His career spans multiple industries and various organizations including automotive leader Daimler Benz, digital marketing agency Proxicom, and one of the country's largest non-denominational churches, Christ's Church of the Valley. In 2020, he founded The StudioC, merging industry excellence and digital transformation with church member engagement. Known for innovative thinking, his current mission is to help churches align their member engagement strategies. Blue's passion for church growth drives the company’s vision, inspiring confidence and driving valuable results.

Melissa Sandel

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF MINISTRIES, WEST SIDE CHRISTIAN CHURCH, SPRINGFIELD, IL + IC COACH & FACILITATOR

Since 2004, Melissa Sandel has served at West Side Christian Church in Springfield, IL. As Executive Director of Ministries, Melissa oversees West Side’s ministry staff and strategy. Her areas of interest include strategic planning, building healthy teams, leading crucial conversations and cheering for the Chicago Cubs. Melissa also serves as an Executive Leader Cohort Facilitator for Intentional Churches and as a Ministry Coach for Milligan University's Ministry Leadership Program. She and her husband, Chris, love parenting their two children: Jack (age 15) and Aly (age 11).

Jim Stanley

FOUNDER, WHOLE MEASURE COACHING, INDIANAPOLIS, IN + IC COACH & FACILITATOR

Jim came into the executive pastor role as the position was beginning to emerge in larger churches. From the time he arrived at Traders Point Christian Church in Indianapolis he was uniquely the youngest guy in every leadership meeting.  By the time he left more than twenty-five years later, he was uniquely the most seasoned one, having experienced everything but a moral failure. His experiences included running point for multiple expansion/generosity initiatives, a complicated church relocation, multiple staff restructurings, a church governance overhaul, serving as interim senior leader amid a generational lead pastor transition, and expanding from one to six campuses. In 2013 Jim became one of IC’s first coaches.  Over the past decade he has coached two dozen churches and activators, developing a specialty for helping churches experiencing governance challenges as a barrier to their implementation of ChurchOS. In 2020, Jim launched Whole Measure Coaching, grounded in Ephesians 4:13, where he helps senior leaders in the church, nonprofit and for-profit spaces to achieve personal clarity, alignment and breakthrough and for their teams and organizations. Jim and Jennifer live North of Indianapolis and have been married for nearly 35 years.  They have four adult children, three sons (two married), a daughter and a brand-new grandson. In his free time, you’ll likely find him reading, playing Scrabble, or rooting for the Hoosiers, Colts, Pirates or Penguins.

Jeff Kirkpatrick

EXECUTIVE PASTOR, RUSH CREEK CHURCH, ARLINGTON, TX + IC COACH & FACILITATOR

Jeff spent 18 years in the chemical industry working in various roles from technical, to manufacturing, to supply chain, to executive leadership. He has spent 10 years on staff at Rush Creek Church in groups, engagement path, family ministry, and as the executive pastor. He has a passion for serving others, loves solving problems, and believes that the local church is the hope of the world. Jeff has been married for 30 years to his wife Kristy, has three daughters and a grand-daughter. He loves spending time outside, cooking and relaxing with family and friends.

Rodney Elliott

EXECUTIVE PASTOR, PATHWAY CHURCH, WICHITA, KS + IC COACH

Rodney Elliott is a farm kid from Kansas who was called into ministry and now serves as the Executive Pastor at Pathway Church in Wichita, Kansas. Rodney has an amazing wife Jenny and four kids Ethan, Kailee, Brianna, and Lauren.

Holly Gillespie

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH, NEWBURGH, IN + IC COACH

Holly is the Executive Director at First Christian Church in Newburgh, Indiana where she has served in various roles since 2004.  During those years she has experienced and led through the many ebbs and flows of church life from exciting growth to church hurt and survival to healing and rebirth.  Her heartbeat is prayerfully partnering with the Holy Spirit to drive organizational and team health through intentional growth planning, teaching, and equipping others.  Holly is a ChurchOS Activator and recently joined the IC Coaching Team.  In her free time she enjoys drinking a good latte, hiking, reading, and hanging out with her husband, 3 teenagers, and 2 dogs.

Tyler Hari

EXECUTIVE PASTOR, EASTVIEW CHRISTIAN CHURCH, NORMAL, IL + IC COACH

Tyler has been married to his wife Jessica for 20 years and have four children (18, 15, 13, 9). He has served at Eastview Christian Church in Normal, IL for 15 years, specifically serving as the Executive Pastor the past 8 years. Tyler is currently a Coach for Intentional Churches and serves on the boards of CICM and Welcome Home Haiti. Tyler enjoys all things water, sports, reading, working out and family time.

Brent Spicer

CHURCHOS SOLUTIONS, INTENTIONAL CHURCHES, NASHVILLE, TN

Brent has been working with churches and church leaders since 2005. He spent 15 years with Ramsey Solutions leading one of the largest departments in the organization, which trained and worked with thousands of churches across America. Brent currently works at Intentional Churches working to develop our next solutions, starting with OneLife, as we expand the ChurchOS platform and complementary solutions. Brent is passionate about helping churches become ONE-Aware and Activated.

Roger Clark

ADULT MINISTRY PASTOR, HARVESTER CHRISTIAN CHURCH, O’FALLON, MO + ONELIFE COACH

Roger Clark is a husband, father, and grandfather currently living in O'Fallon, Missouri and on ministry staff at Harvester Christian Church. He has been a teacher and administrator in Christian Higher Education as well and spent over 45 years in part and full-time ministry in the local church. Roger has been involved in the OneLife movement for eight years as a coach. He likes to read, study, travel, and attend Broadway musicals.

Guy Kneebone

SENIOR PASTOR, MOUNTAIN VIEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, FREDERICK, MD

Guy Kneebone is a 1982 graduate of Temple University with a B.A. in Psychology and a 1990 graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Th.M. in Pastoral Ministries. Guy and his wife, Lorrie, were married in 1986 and have six daughters, one son, and six grandchildren. Lorrie is a 1981 graduate of Miami of Ohio University with a B.A. in Sociology and is also a 1983 graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary with a Masters in Biblical Studies. 

Before moving to Maryland in 1997 to begin Mountain View Community Church, Guy served as associate pastor of evangelism and discipleship at Harmony Bible Church in Danville, IA from 1990-1997. Prior to attending Dallas Seminary from 1986-1990, Guy served as a campus minister at Temple University from 1982-1986.

In addition to having a heart for evangelism, Guy is a big fan of the NY Giants, NY Yankees, Phila. 76ers, Temple Owls, and Crystal Palace Eagles.

Brad Kompelien

EXECUTIVE PASTOR, ROCKPOINT CHURCH, LAKE ELMO, MN

Brad Kompelien is the Executive Pastor of Rockpoint Church in Lake Elmo, MN where he has served since June 2022. He lives with a simple ministry philosophy…Love God, Love Others, and Make Disciples. 

In 2022, God made a clear call for Brad to leave Corporate America, after working for Cisco Systems for 13 years, to move into full-time vocational ministry. God gave Brad the desire to help a local church create and execute a ministry strategy that inspires all church members to live out Loving God, Loving Others, and Making Disciples in their daily lives so the surrounding community can be flooded with the hope and joy of the Gospel. 

Brad has been married to his beautiful wife, Paige, for 14 years. They have three children: Heath (12), Landon (12), and Gwen (8). Parenting three believers in Christ with Paige is Brad’s greatest joy in life. 

 Brad is an avid sports fan. He has a knack for remembering sports statistics, events, and players. He once considered being a sports broadcaster. Brad’s favorite teams are the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, and Golden State Warriors.

 The outdoors is another big passion for Brad. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and hiking – it is an incredible time to commune with God and decompress from the stresses of life.
